AviSynth is a post-production software tool developed by Ben Rudiak-Gould. It enables users to instantly edit and process video content, working as a frameserver without storing temporary files. It doesn't feature a graphical user interface and instead it uses a scripting system for non-linear editing in an advanced and powerful mode. Users can see AviSynth as something combining the functionality of a digital video source, media player, video editing tool and an encoder. It works with programs supporting AVI files and acts as a fake AVI. It supports trimming, deinterlacing, cropping, loading, inverse telecine and still image splicing, at the same time offering color correction and denoising. Users have the possibility to extend the scripting language via plugins stored in a list at AviSynth Filter Collection. The filters work in YUY2, YV12 and RGB.
